We’re the Fanslers. We’ve been a family since 2011 and we’ve been farmers since 2019. Neither my husband (Kevon) nor myself (Cait) come from a farming or 4h background but we are trying to learn. We have a farm in progress in Southern Wisconsin that we are building from almost scratch. Currently we raise chickens for meat and eggs and look forward to expanding what we produce. Kevon is a sailor in the US NAVY who lives on his farm with his family. He’s been studying for his BS in Horticulture since Spring of 2018 hoping the knowledge will support his dream of having his own farm. Cait is a nurse and has been following Kevon wherever the Navy sends us since 2012. We love where we’re at so much that the plan for our farm is to stay here forever. Excited for all the opportunities we will get to learn the further we get in this farmstead adventure.

Kevon

In NAVY off time and in between farm chores and family time Kevon likes to play D&D or the occasional PlayStation game. His favorite thing to do on the farm is inspecting the honey bee hives. Least favorite is cleaning the chicken coop. The farmstead milestone is hes most looking forward to next is adding rabbits to our farmstead.

Cait

In the free time between nursing, family, and farm Cait is crocheting one of her many works in progress. Favorite farm chore is figuring out dinner using as many farm ingredients as possible. Least favorite farm chore is any chore when it’s cold out. The farmstead milestone most excited for is expanding the garden.
